CLEVELAND — Police are working to identify a suspect after a 19-year-old man was found dead from gunfire early Sunday morning in Mansfield.
According to a news release from the Mansfield Department of Police, officers arrived to 459 South Main Street just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday and found the 19-year-old man inside the residence. Officers found the teen "had sustained a gunshot wound(s)," police said.
The Mansfield Fire Department was called to the scene but the victim was pronounced dead at the residence. The Richland County Coroner's Office responded to perform an autopsy.
The police department said detectives are "working to find out what led to the shooting as well as to identify a suspect (s)." Police said detectives have limited details amid the early stages of the "active and fluid investigation."
