CLEVELAND — It was a special way of saying thank you.
The U.S. Air Force Reserve took to the skies Monday morning for a flyover at multiple Northeast Ohio locations as a symbolic salute to front line workers.
Our cameras were there to capture the moment two of the 910th Airlift Wing's C-130H Hercules aircrafts soared over the Cleveland VA Hospital.
"The 910th’s Reserve Citizen Airmen are proud to serve alongside the first responders and essential personnel in the COVID-19 response efforts," officials said in a press release. "We are all in this together. These selfless Americans on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19 remind us we can rise to meet any challenge with unrivaled spirit and commitment."
The 910th's team also offered sky salute at several other spots throughout Northeast Ohio, including University Hospitals, Fairview Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, MetroHealth Medical Center, Akron Children's Hospital and Mercy Medical Center in Canton.
Officials said the flyovers were scheduled "during one of the wing's training missions and will incur no additional cost to taxpayers."
