Sanders is set to hold a "Raise the Wage Rally" alongside One Fair Wage at UAW Local 1005 in Parma on Thursday, June 20, at 7 p.m.

Organizers say that the event will "rally working-class voters around an upcoming ballot initiative to raise the state's minimum wage to $15 dollars an hour, and end subminimum wages for tipped workers, workers with disabilities, and young people."

Sanders, who is an Independent in Vermont, gained national attention while running for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016 and 2020.

The event comes weeks before the July 3 deadline for issue campaigns working to get on the November ballot. Volunteers are currently working to gather 700,000 signatures for the proposed initiative that would raise wages for 1.2 million workers across the state.

The doors for the event will open at 6 p.m. Anyone planning on attending the free event is encouraged to RSVP HERE
