A spokesperson for South Euclid/Lyndhurst Schools told 3News that no one was hurt and there is no current threat.

The full letter from South Euclid-Lyndhurst City School District Superintendent Dr. Lind Reid can be read below:

Earlier today a lockdown was called at Brush High School. Our district is committed to the safety and well-being of all students and staff. We want to clearly communicate with parents and staff when safety issues arise.

An anonymous threat was called to our 1-800 tipline. Building administration started an investigation with local police, and a ‘Shelter in Place’ was initiated. Upon finding a loaded weapon, the building was immediately placed in a lockdown so that the police on site could continue their investigation on any other possible threats.

No one was hurt and there is no current threat to our school community.

The building remained in lockdown until we were notified by the police that the situation was contained, and permission was given by law enforcement to lift the lockdown. This incident is now an ongoing police investigation with a juvenile in custody.

Lockdown situations can be frightening for students. A follow-up will be conducted with staff and students. Please discuss this situation with your children and let us know if follow-up is needed at school.

Please feel free to contact your child’s principal.
