4 killed in Ellsworth house explosion

The explosion took place on Huxley Road in Ellsworth, the township's fire department said.

CLEVELAND — Multiple emergency crews responded to a house explosion that killed four people in Mahoning County Saturday morning, the Ellsworth Fire Department said. 

The explosion took place on Huxley Road in Ellsworth, the fire department announced on social media just after 9 a.m. The fire department did not specify when the house explosion happened.

"We ask that all civilians stay clear of the area as this is a very active scene and investigation," the EFD said. "We will let everyone know when the area is back open."

On Sunday, the Ohio State Fire Marshal's office confirmed to 3News that four people were killed in the explosion. Investigators are still looking into what caused the explosion.
