MANSFIELD, Ohio — Mansfield police confirm a woman and a man are after both sustained gunshot wounds at an apartment complex Friday afternoon.
Authorities received a report of a domestic violence incident at the Wood Cliff Manor apartments just after 3:30 p.m., with neighbors telling officers they heard gunshots coming from one of the residences. Upon entering the home, officers found both the man and the woman had been shot, and the two were eventually transported to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.
Both the woman and the man later died from their injuries. Per police, the two are believed to have been the only ones involved in the shooting, but it is not known at this time what led up to each of them being shot.
The Richland County Coroner's Office is conducting an autopsy of the female victim as law enforcement investigates. Anyone with information regarding what might have happened is asked to immediately call Mansfield Major Crimes Detective Kory Kaufman at 419-755-9748.
