CLEVELAND — A Tuscarawas County man died Saturday night after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing near an intersection in Rush Township, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

In a press release, troopers said the crash happened at around 11:30 p.m. on County Road 29, also known as Edwards Ridge Road, near the intersection of County Road 32, also known as Crooked Creek Road.

Troopers say Trevor E. Berndt, 33, from Newcomerstown, was attempting to round a curve when he lost control and his Harley Davidson overturned on the road. The motorcycle slid off the left side of the road before hitting a guardrail.

Berndt was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries and transported to a hospital by the Tuscarawas County Coroner's Office.

The highway patrol is investigating the crash. Troopers said Berndt was not wearing a helmet.
