According to a press release, the incident occurred at the intersection of Mason Road East and Hoover Road in Milan Township just after 12:45 p.m. Authorities say a Mack truck headed south on Hoover failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck on the right side by a dump truck headed east on Mason. The Mack truck then went off the road and slammed into a tree, while the dump truck flipped over and hit a utility pole.

Per officials, the driver of the Mack truck was a 57-year-old man from Parma. Despite wearing a seat belt, he sustained "incapacitating injuries." His exact condition is unknown at this time.

The driver of the dump truck, a 26-year-old Berlin Heights resident, had to be pulled from his vehicle before being taken from the scene by ambulance with serious injuries. Police say he was not wearing his seat belt.

OSHP says the crash is still under investigation. Members of the Erie County Sheriff's Office and Milan Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
