CLEVELAND — A 4-year-old girl was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries after a single-car crash in Huron County Friday.
Two other young children, who were not in car seats, as well as the driver, were treated for "possible injuries," the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
Troopers say the crash happened at 2:49 p.m. on Boughtonville Road near Walnut Road in New Haven Township.
According to the highway patrol, a 40-year-old woman was driving a 2009 minivan west on Boughtonville Road when she drove off the left side of the road, hitting a ditch and a guardrail.
Troopers say three young children were in the minivan, none of which were secured in child safety seat restraints. A 4-year-old girl sustained "serious injuries" and was flown to a hospital by Medflight. A 1-year-old and a 3-year-old were treated for "possible injuries" by medics on scene, OSHP said.
The 40-year-old driver, who was wearing her seatbelt, was taken to a nearby hospital for possible injuries.
Troopers are investigating the crash.
