RAVENNA, Ohio — A suspect has been arrested in connection to a shooting that took place in August, Ravenna police say.
According to a press release, the initial incident took place on August 12. Ravenna officers responded to a 911 call on Madison Street. When officers arrived, they spoke with multiple residents in the area who all reported hearing "loud popping noises," but could not tell if they were gunshots or fireworks.
While police searched the area, they found several shell casings and found gunfire damage to two vehicles parked in a driveway. A total of nine .40 caliber shell casings and two 9mm casings were recovered from the scene.
Additional rounds were recovered from a garage door and a nearby fence.
Ravenna police used Flock Cameras installed in the area to help locate a vehicle which led to the arrest of the suspect.
The suspect has been identified as 19-year-old William Hale-Jones. On Tuesday, Hale-Jones was arrested in Twinsburg. He was transported to the Portage County Jail.
