"You mean I get new hair?"; Former 3News Anchor Robin Swoboda finds silver-lining in chemo treatment plan after cancer diagnosis

Swoboda detailed her discussion with her oncologist in a Facebook video posted Wednesday morning.

CLEVELAND — Editor's note: The video in the player above is from a previously published, related story.

Just weeks after revealing that she has been diagnosed with cancer, former 3News Anchor Robin Swoboda has been told she will need to undergo chemotherapy for her tumors.

"So I heard from my oncologist yesterday, we had an appointment to talk at five o'clock, and it was 5:20. And let me tell you what, I haven't been nervous through this whole thing, but those twenty minutes were long," Swoboda says in a video posted to Facebook. "The oncologist called and she said that I-- I don't know, she used some word, and I don't remember what kind of cancer-- but then she said 'aggressive,' and then she said, 'you will have to have chemo.'"

Ever the optimist, Swoboda says her first reaction to the news was "you mean I get new hair?!"

"So anyway, I'll start chemotherapy soon," Robin says.

Well, here it is. I got back the test results last eveing. I also slept in my makeup, if anyone is counting. Lol. ❤️❤️❤️

The Cleveland television personality then went on to joke about starting her treatment sooner rather than later, hoping to luck out when it comes to avoiding having to restart her health insurance deductible in 2022.

"So if I could get everything in by December 31-- otherwise I've got to start that $7000 all over again," Swoboda says.

And while Robin says she is doing pretty well with her treatment plan, she does have a request for anyone who may want to help.

"In the meantime, start looking for hats and wigs for a big head-- and it's not just from being on TV, I really have a big head," she jokes.

Robin has remained committed to finding the funny and the silver lining since her first diagnosis of breast cancer, back in 2017.
