3 men arrested after allegedly stealing Parma's flamingo statue

The men are expected to be arraigned in court on a vandalism charge.

PARMA, Ohio — Parma police have arrested three men after they allegedly removed and damaged the town's iconic pink flamingo statue.

The arrest comes nearly five days after the suspects allegedly removed the flamingo that used to sit next to the script Parma sign near the splash pad on West Ridgewood Drive. 

The flamingo was later recovered approximately 50 feet north of its original location, but it had been damaged.

The three men, who have been identified as 25-year-old Taylor Pupkiewicz, 25-year-old Marcus Balue and 24-year-old David Burak, have been charged with vandalism, a fifth-degree felony.

The suspects are expected to be arraigned in Parma Municipal Court in front of Judge Deanna O'Donnell on Tuesday, June 4, at 11 a.m.
