CLEVELAND — A Mansfield student was taken into custody Thursday after threatening to carry out a shooting at Mansfield Middle School, police said.
The Mansfield Division of Police said in a news release that school administrators received two email messages from the student threatening to "shoot up" the middle school.
Police say the school's staff, administration and law enforcement officers collaborated to quickly identify the suspect. The student was taken into custody and incarcerated Thursday evening.
"As always, anyone who hears or sees threats or potentially violent activity is asked to call their local law enforcement agency immediately," the police department said.
