WESTLAKE, Ohio — The Westlake Police Department is warning parents of a troubling trend recently discovered in their community.
In a post on the department's official Facebook page, officials posted multiple pictures of the various narcotics recently discovered. Methamphetamine and ecstasy pills shaped into bite sized pills resembling candy and popular logos such as Netflix, Facebook and one in the shape of the iconic cartoon character Bart Simpson.
The post can be read below:
"ATTN PARENTS!
WPD has recently had several encounters with subjects who were in possession of pills that looked like candy. The coloring was that of a Smarty-type candy, while the shapes were of cartoon characters or brand name logos. Examples are the "Netflix" and "Facebook" logos and Bart Simpson's face. We just want parents to be aware that these candy-looking pills are actually illegal narcotics such as Methamphetamine and Ecstasy. Talk to your kids about this. Accepting a colorful candy from someone may be a mistake. The Bart Simpson and Netflix tabs pictured actually tested as being fully composed of methamphetamine. If you notice these in your home, be educated on what you are dealing with!"
