MENTOR, Ohio — Editor's note: the video in the player above is from a story published on June 4, 2021.
Northeast Ohio's first-ever permanent experimental museum is now open!
WonderCleveland has begun welcoming guests to the Great Lakes Mall, offering 16 interactive art exhibits and fun for the whole family to enjoy.
According to a press release, the museum invites guests to explore and get interactive with the experience, allowing visitors to touch, climb and play with things in the museum.
"WonderCleveland is the only experience in northeast Ohio in which the exhibits will actually interact with the guests through the use of interactive video components and projection mapping," says a release from WonderCleveland. "Guests can expect to view creatures, people, and objects from a different time and dimension through the Museum’s augmented reality app which challenges guests to solve the enigma which is invisible to plain sight."
Among the exhibits, visitors will be able to find a life-sized Lego Batman, an eight-foot-tall Pez dispenser, a mirrored neon infinity room and more Instagrammable displays!
One installation even includes a photo-op in which guests can sit on a floating crescent moon over the Cleveland skyline.
"Experiential museums like WonderCleveland are very popular across the country and we are very excited to bring this unique experience to Cleveland”, said organizer and Cleveland native Jason Percival. “It’s a one-of-a-kind experience that is perfect for people of all ages and interests from families with children to teenagers to adults – multiple generations can all enjoy together.”
