NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — The Tuscarawas County Coroner's Office has released the identity of the woman whose body was found wrapped in plastic earlier this week.
The body of local woman, 38-year-old Amber L. Sherrell, was identified by authorities using her fingerprints, after she shwas found early on Tuesday morning along White Bridge Road in Dover.
Tuscarawas County Sheriff's Office is now investigating the cause of Sherrell's death, and working to construct a timeline of those of who last saw or spoke to her.
Sheriff's deputies received a call just after 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday from a witness who saw a body lying along White Bridge Road near State Route 416 in Goshen Township. The caller, who was on his way to work, noticed that the body had been partially wrapped in plastic.
Members of the Tuscarawas County Coroner's Office responded, along with deputies and detectives from the Tuscarawas County Sheriff's Office, plus members of the New Philadelphia and Dover fire departments.
The body was taken by the Tuscarawas County Coroner's Office for an autopsy. While the cause and manner of death are currently unknown, foul play is suspected.
