A body was recovered from a pond in Newbury Township Tuesday afternoon, officials confirm.
The recovery took place on Perkin Road.
It appears the man went fishing on the ice in the morning and fell through,according to the Geauga County Sheriff.
By the time officials were called to the scene, the ice had become thin and there was an open spot.
The man's identity has not yet been released. No further information is available at this time.
The Sheriff's office is sending a message that no ice is safe ice. Especially given the sporadic warm weather being seen across Northeast Ohio.
