Thanks to her daily updates alongside Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Dr. Amy Acton has emerged as a calming voice during undeniably uncertain times.
And as a "thank you" for her efforts throughout the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Columbus-based apparel manufacturer has released a new t-shirt and sweatshirt collection, which pays tribute to the Ohio Department of Health Director.
"Not all heroes wear capes," reads the apparel.
Proceeds from sales of the t-shirt (which retails for $32) and crewneck sweatshirt (which retails for $60) will benefit the Huckleberry House, whose programs assist youth at risk from violence, neglect, poverty and homelessness.

"We're in challenging times, and here at HOMAGE, we're thinking of the best ways we can all support each other through the COVID19 pandemic," Homage said on its Instagram page. She reminds us not only of the courage of the medical health professionals working tirelessly to treat the sick, but also of the small things we all can do to help each other - even if we can't necessarily be together. Delivering supplies and meals. Practicing social distancing. And supporting local charities as they aid our community's most vulnerable.
"With schools around the nation closing, many at-risk children face food insecurity and challenges related to safe housing. As a tribute to Dr. Amy and all of those working day and night to keep us healthy, we're partnering with one of Central Ohio's charities to raise funds for youth homelessness."
A native of Youngstown, Acton has earned praise both locally and nationwide for her work relating to the coronavirus pandemic. In a tweet last week, Ohio minority leader Emilia Sykes referred to Acton as "the real MVP of Ohio's coronavirus response."
