Kings Island 2018: What you need to know

The park officially opens up on April 14.

Mason's Kings Island will open for the 46th time soon.

And we've got all the answers you need today to start planning your trip today.

What are the hours exactly?

The park officially opens April 14. But there is a Gold Season Pass preview from 5-10 p.m. April 13.

Daily hours vary throughout the season. It will be open from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. April 14. But hours only get longer throughout the summer. For instance, a weekday time of 10 a.m.-10 p.m. begins May 28.

Where can I get tickets?

Grab them online or at Kroger stores. Daily admission tickets start as low as $44.99.

Your ticket includes all rides, live shows and attractions, and the neighboring Soak City Water Park. (It does not include the two paid attractions, Sling Shot and Xtreme Flyer.)

Oh, and children younger than 3 do not require a ticket.

Are there any Opening Gate deals?

Sure are. If you buy one ticket, you can get one free. The total? $69. Those tickets are valid through June 30.

How much is parking?

Parking is $20 per vehicle for regular and $30 for preferred.

What's new this year?

A two-time winner of the Food Network's "Chopped" reality TV cooking contest and contestant on Alton Brown’s Cutthroat Kitchen, James Major, is now executive chef here.

There's also a new restaurant, Coney Bar B Que, that's opened in Coney Mall area of the park next to the Scramble.

So, no new rides this year?

Nope. Kings Island opened the record-breaking wooden roller coaster Mystic Timbers last year.

How tall do the kids have to be to ride the attractions?

That varies. You'll find the complete list here.

What can I do now?

Well, you can go ahead and process your season pass soon. The processing center will be open from 1-5 p.m. April 7-8 and 5-8 p.m. April 9-12.

When's Coasterstock this year?

The annual Coasterstock celebration returns May 18-19.

The two-day event attracts hundreds of coaster fans from around the world and will feature exclusive ride time on attractions, as well as behind-the-scenes experiences and guest speakers.
