MANSFIELD, Ohio -- Mansfield police are investigating the death of a 1-month-old baby boy Tuesday.
Richland County Coroner's Investigator Bob Ball said the the baby was taken to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital and pronounced dead at 8:38 a.m. Tuesday.
The body will be sent to the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy, Ball said.
Mansfield police Capt. Shari Robertson said emergency responders were dispatched a home in the 100 block of Hedges Street in reference to a 1-month -old male child having difficulty breathing. The child was taken to the hospital and later died.
The coroners’s office and Mansfield police detectives are investigating the circumstances involving the death. There are no further details to release at this time, Robertson said.
