Ohio BMVs experiencing long lines, technical issues in reopening

As they reopen, Ohio BMV locations are experiencing long waits and technical issues.

The reopening of Bureau of Motor Vehicle locations in Ohio has hardly been seamless.

With locations permitted to reopen on Tuesday, many locations are experiencing long lines and wait times, including the location in Bedford, as well as at the Church Square Plaza at 79th and Euclid.

Additionally, technical difficulties have been reported at multiple locations, including the one in Medina, where one an outage reportedly occurred for more than 90 minutes. While BMVs are reopened, customers are asked to use any online services when applicable. Additionally, locations are only currently performing knowledge tests, with skills tests set to resume at a later date.

Most BMV locations in Ohio have been closed since March 18 due to concerns regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In reopening, locations have taken safety measures to encourage physical distancing, including limited occupancy and expanded business hours.
