Police in Cincinnati are investigating after multiple fights broke out at Kings Island over the weekend, reports say.
The NBC affiliate in Cincinnati, WLWT, says police were called out to the park Saturday to break up several large groups of fighting teens. According to WLWT, an officer was injured attempting to break up one of the fights. He is apparently expected to be fine.
Reports say the park closed about 30 minutes early due to the fighting, which spilled over into the parking lots from the amusement park.
A spokesperson for Kings Island released a statement to WLWT that read, "The safety of our guests and associates is always our top priority. On Saturday, the decision was made to close the park 30 minutes early due to unruly behavior and altercations involving a number of teenagers. This behavior did not align with our park's values, and was not the experience we want any guest to have while visiting Kings Island."
A second statement released to WLWT from a Kings Island spokesperson said "Yesterday's event was not a normal occurrence at King Island. Unruly behavior has no place at our park. The altercations on display last night do not align with our park's values, and were not the experience we want any guest to have while visiting Kings Island. We are taking immediate steps to address the situation so that our guests enjoy their future visits."
Reports say nobody was arrested, but that charges could come if police can identify anyone seen in the videos of teens fighting that are being posted on social media.
