CLEVELAND — If your social media feed on Tuesday is filling up with "I Voted" stickers, then you're not alone.
With Tuesday marking Election Day, many are eager to show off their proof that they performed their civic duty and cast a ballot.
While many stickers in other states are indistinguishable, Ohio's harder to miss. As Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose explained to 3News' Dave Chudowsky on Tuesday, Ohio's design -- which features the phrase "Ohio Voted" with the 'I' in Ohio and 'Voted' in red -- comes as the result of a statewide contest that was held in 2019.
"We redesigned it in 2019. It was a high school student from Circleville that came up with the winning design and got over 20,000 votes on the internet," LaRose -- a Republican incumbent who is facing Democratic candidate Chelsea Clark on this year's ballot -- said. "What I love about it is there's kind of a dual meaning. It says 'I voted' but it also says 'Ohio voted.' Because this is something that we do together but it also is an individual responsibility. And so I love that sort of dual meaning in the voting sticker that we have."
Speaking with Dave, LaRose also discussed Ohio's record-setting turnout for early voting, the voting process in Ohio and how it compares to other states, as well as election security. You can watch the full interview in the video player above or the YouTube player below.
