Actor Luke Perry, best known for his role as Dylan McKay on "Beverly Hills, 90210" and more recently, Fred Andrews on "Riverdale" passed away on Monday after suffering from a massive stroke late last week.
As news of Perry's death made the rounds, many took to social media to pay their respects to the 52-year-old actor.
Among those to share their thoughts was former Obama Administration staff member Michael O'Neil, who revealed that Senator Sherrod Brown's father delivered Perry during his birth in Mansfield.
It didn't take long for Brown, as well as many others from the Buckeye State to weigh in on the passing of Perry, who was raised in Fredericktown, Ohio.
Brown added the following statement on Perry via a press release: “Luke Perry represented what makes our state great – generosity, humility, and a fighting spirit. Connie and I join the Mansfield and Fredericktown communities in offering our deep sympathies to Luke’s family and friends on their loss.”
Additionally, Fredericktown Local Schools released the following statement regarding the Fredericktown High School grad:
"The Fredericktown Local Schools was saddened to learn of the passing of Luke Perry. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends.
"A graduate of the Class of 1984, Luke was an active member in drama and even donned the Freddie Bird costume for athletic events. His memory is still very much alive in our district. FLS will always be proud to be Luke Perry's alma mater."
