MILLERSBURG, Ohio — Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred early Friday morning at the intersection of US 62 and State Route 515 in Paint Township, Holmes County.

Troopers say 20-year-old Michael Weaver of Millersburg, Ohio was traveling northeast on US 62 driving a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado when seventy-two-year-old Maxine Hamlin of Baltic, Ohio, who was driving a 2018 Jeep Compass and was traveling northbound on State Route 515, failed to yield from a stop sign at the intersection of SR 515 and US 62 and pulled into the path of Weaver, according to officials.

Hamlin was struck on the driver's side of her vehicle and both vehicles came to a rest on US 62 northeast of SR 515. Hamlin was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

Officials with OSHP tell 3News that Weaver was not hurt. A 33-year-old passenger in Hamlin's vehicle was seriously hurt and taken to Canton Aultman Hospital by the Winesburg Fire Department.

The crash remains under investigation.
