Residents share photos and video of damage after EF3 tornadoes slam Southwest Ohio

Winds reached speeds of up to 140 miles per hour.

The National Weather Service has confirmed multiple tornadoes touched down in several Southwest Ohio locations Monday night.

The Wellington division of the NWS says the first touchdown of an EF3 tornado occurred in Beavercreek, with winds reaching up to 140 miles per hour. Other EF3 touchdowns took place in Trotwood and Celina, while other tornadoes with still unknown wind speeds made their way to Circleville and Pickaway.

Officials are still surveying the area and are looking into the possibility of this being the same tornado. Experts have previously estimated as many as 52 tornadoes may have touched down across both Ohio and Indiana.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine spoke from Celina earlier Tuesday and was set to survey the damage with his wife Fran and others.

Roughly 40 homes in the Dayton area have been either destroyed or heavily damaged. An 81-year-old Celina man also died after a vehicle blew into his house.

Residents have been sharing multiple videos on social media (especially SnapChat) of the damage, as well as photos from the scene.

A tornado also hit farther north and east in Carroll County on Saturday. However, that was only listed as an EF1.
