POWELL, Ohio — Zoombezi Bay announced that a new multi-slide attraction is coming to the water park next summer.
The Conservation Tower will feature three new slides — one that the water park says is the first of its kind in the Midwest and two others that are the first of its kind In the world. The three slides are called The Hive, The Captina Falls and The Mussel Mayhem.
On The Hive, guests can experience extremely positive G-forces while flying on a two-person tube through 720-degree helixes in two massive beehives. The slide also has translucent effects and a hollow spiral enclosure that is open to the sky. This is one of the two slides making its world debut.
The other one making its global debut is Captina Falls. It starts 51 feet in the air and lets two guests race one another on a mat head-first to the bottom through enclosed tubes, rally points and high-speed turns on the RallyRACR with FlyingSAUCER 8s in the world. There’s also a racing timer so guests can compete for the best times.
The Mussel Mayhem is one of the longest waterslides in the Midwest. It offers the guests the chance to experience two halfpipe cutbacks and two funnel elements. Guests can ride in unique two-person rafts that face one another.
Officials at Zoombezi Bay said each slide name is inspired by the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium's impact on local conservation efforts.
The Conservation Tower is expected to be open to the public in the summer of 2025.
