CLEVELAND — Businesses and individuals who raised the most dollars to support the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio’s signature event, Walk, Rock, Roll and Run, were recognized today in a virtual ceremony hosted by 3News Anchor Russ Mitchell.
The Diversity Center’s goal is to eliminate bias, bigotry, and racism by bringing diversity workshops and programming into schools, workplaces, and communities.
Each year, the organization holds its Walk, Rock, Roll and Run. This year, the event was held on May 6 and raised a total of $257,994! Mitchell has presided over the event as grand marshal for over a decade.
Today, in a zoom awards ceremony, he announced the top fundraisers.
The awards went to:
Top Individual Fundraiser: Maggie K. Myers, Manager of Process Improvement and Chair of the DEI Working Group” at FirstEnergy. She won the Rock Hall experience which includes a private tour for her and 6 guests, and the chance to be the DJ for the day at the Rock Hall.
Top Workplace Fundraising Team Winners:
- Alexis Kim – Sr. Managing Associate, Cleveland Office Co-Chair Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Thompson Hine
- Ping Li – Partner, Cleveland Office Co-Chair Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Thompson Hine
Thompson Hine team raised a total of $11,565.00.
