BRIMFIELD, Ohio — Two people have been arrested following a chase in Brimfield on Sunday night where police say the incident “caused a considerable disturbance in our residential neighborhoods” -- and authorities say the vehicle had an 11-year-old child inside.
Brimfield police say it was around 9 p.m. when officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Edson Road for an undisclosed traffic violation.
The driver allegedly failed to stop, leading police on a pursuit on Edson and Meloy before entering residential neighborhoods.
“Then, the driver stopped the vehicle and fled on foot, leaving a second adult and an 11-year-old child in the vehicle,” according to Brimfield police. “With the assistance of the Kent Police K-9 unit, officers tracked the suspect to the rear door of a house on Perie Wood Lane in Brimfield.”
After obtaining a search warrant, the Brimfield Police Department says officers searched the residence and took the driver into custody without incident.
44-year-old Michael Frampton of Brimfield was arrested and charged with failure to comply and endangering children.
Police also say 40-year-old Cheryl Hershberger was arrested and charged with obstructing justice.
“Additional charges are possible after further investigation,” according to Brimfield police.
Nobody was hurt during the incident.
