RAVENNA, Ohio — Editor's Note: The above video is from a previously published, unrelated story.
What began as a routine traffic stop because of a missing headlight turned into a major drug bust by the Portage County Sheriff's Office.
In a Facebook post released on Monday, sheriff's deputies report that in October, a vehicle was pulled over on Cleveland Road in Ravenna Township due to having just one headlight on. As the traffic stop continued, deputies discovered approximately 2.25 pounds of marijuana, 26 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, three quarters of a pound of THC edibles and $2,500.00 in cash.
Along with those confiscations, the Portage County Sheriff’s Office was able to seize the vehicle for forfeiture pending the outcome of the court proceedings.
"The Portage County Sheriff’s Office is committed to combating the drug epidemic and will continue to be proactive in these enforcement efforts," the Facebook post added.
