The Portage County Sheriff's Office is holding a CCW processing event Thursday afternoon as 'thank you' to local veterans.
Any Veteran, active duty or reserve members, are invited to attend the free CCW application processing event. The walk-in 'thank you' is being organized by the CCW office and is an opportunity for Veterans to " have their application processed without scheduling an appointment," according to the Sheriff's Office.
The event will continue until 6 p.m. and no appointment is necessary if you'd like to participate. To qualify for the service, the required information includes an application, photo, DD214 stating honorable, retired ID, or active duty ID card.
Refreshments including hot dogs, coffee, doughnuts and other snack will be available throughout the duration of the event.
