According to Ravenna Police Captain Dave Rarrick, after two days of information gathering from interviews and evidence, the department made the determination that the incident was a homicide, not an accident.

The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office is completing an autopsy of the body of Diaz-Francis. Results are not available as of Monday evening.

On Saturday, investigators said the only witness remaining at the building where the shooting occurred was questioned and that others might have fled before police and paramedics arrived. A handgun was found at the scene.
