RAVENNA, Ohio — The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) is investigating a deadly Ravenna police shooting that happened on Tuesday morning.
According to a release from the Ravenna Police Department, the incident happened on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at around 11:45 a.m. on the Portage Hike and Bike Trail.
Officials confirmed that no officers were injured in the incident.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the Hike and Bike Trail through Ravenna is closed between Freedom Street and Loomis Parkway until further notice.
At this time, Ohio BCI members are interviewing witnesses.
According to Ravenna police, "the identity of the deceased is being withheld pending the next steps in the investigation."
