STREETSBORO, Ohio — A 21-year-old man is dead after a two-vehicle, head-on crash in Streetsboro on Wednesday.
Streetsboro police responded to calls of a crash that took place on State Route 303 near Kirby Lane. When officers arrived to the scene, they found a Kia Soul that had caught on fire after it collided with a Kenworth dump truck.
According to Streetsboro police, a bystander extinguished the car fire with a fire extinguisher, but the driver of the Kia, Griffin Belden of Kent, had become trapped in the vehicle. He was removed from the vehicle with the help of the Streetsboro Fire Department. Belden was transported to Akron City Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the dump truck, an unnamed 61-year-old man from Cleveland, suffered minor injuries from the crash.
