Streetsboro police: Girl attacked near school bus stop

Police say they will be concentrating patrol efforts around school bus stops on Thursday morning.

STREETSBORO, Ohio — The Streetsboro Police Department is investigating the report of a juvenile girl being attacked while walking to her school bus stop on Wednesday. 

According to the department's post on Facebook, the girl reported that an unknown male wearing dark clothing jumped out at her from behind a bush on Portage Pointe Drive as she was heading towards her school bus stop.

The girl told police that she kicked the suspect and was able to make it to the bus stop. The report was made to officers several hours later. 

The investigation is ongoing as police attempt to find any witnesses or surveillance footage of the incident. In the meantime, "out of an abundance of caution," police say they will be concentrating patrol efforts around school bus stops on Thursday morning.
