KENT, Ohio — A suspect is in custody following an alleged threat made against Kent Roosevelt High School Thursday afternoon.
Kent police say the threat was discovered on social media, with the individual purportedly threatening to blow up the building. After the person was identified as a still unnamed 18-year-old, they were tracked outside the city and apprehended with the help of the Kent City School District and the FBI.
Per officials, security was increased at Roosevelt while authorities searched for the suspect. 3News has reached out to the district for further comment.
Kent Police Lieutenant Mike Lewis says the suspect is currently being held for questioning, with potential criminal charges pending. Additional details are now known at this time.
