According to Cleveland Fire, crews have safely fixed a ruptured gas line on W. 25th Street between Lorain Avenue and Market Avenue.
The streets were closed off to the public temporarily, but have since been reopened.
Initial reports about a gas leak came in around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, which Cleveland Fire confirmed on Twitter, asking residents to avoid the area while crews work to get the situation under control.
"High Pressure Gas Leak on Gehring south of Lorain. @CLEpolice have CLOSED W.25 both directions south of Lorain to Gehring/Chatham," Cleveland Fire tweeted on Wednesday afternoon. "Lorain Rd Eastbound CLOSED from W.25th to Gehring. Gehring CLOSED from Lorain to W.25th. Please avoid area."
