Seven Ohio bars cited for violation of COVID-19 alcohol curfew, three bars in Northeast Ohio included on the list

The Ivy, Showcase, and Rumors all violated Rule 80: for after hour liquor sales

CLEVELAND — Three Northeast Ohio bars were cited by the Ohio Investigative Unit (OIU) overnight following reports of violations of the current alcohol curfew in Ohio. 

In total, seven locations in the state were cited for violating Rule 80, which prohibits alcohol sales after 10:00 p.m. 

In Northeast Ohio, The Ivy, Rumor, and Showcase were all cited by OIU agents.

  • The Ivy, located at 1212 W. 6th Street in Cleveland, received administrative citations for improper conduct and after-hour sales. According to Ohio Department of Health officials, patrons at The Ivy were not adhering to social distancing and very little mask-wearing. 
  • LGCE Holding Group, which goes by "Rumor," also received citations for the improper conduct and the continued serving of alcohol at least 40 minutes after 10:00 p.m.
  • At KK Lucky Enterprises, known as "Showcase," in Garfield Heights, agents observed at least 15 patrons consuming alcohol past the curfew.

  • Brathaus in Bowling Green: Improper conduct and disorderly conduct
  • City Tap in Bowling Green: Rule 80 violation
  • Redneck Willy's in Weston: Rule 80 violation

“When egregious violations are observed, enforcement action is taken,” said OIU Enforcement Commander Eric Wolf. “We all need to continue to work together by following the precautions put in place to make these establishments safe and compliant with the directives.”

The other locations include the Pigskin Bar in Athens, Brathaus and City Tap in Bowling Green, and Redneck Willy's in Weston.

Cases will now go to the Ohio Liquor Control Commission for potential penalties.
