ALLIANCE, Ohio — Fire officials in Alliance say one person was found dead after two homes caught fire in the 1300 block of South Arch Avenue on Thursday.
When firefighters responded to the scene, it was discovered that two people who were reportedly on the roof had been helped down by neighbors, according to a Facebook post from the Alliance Fire Department.
“The fire involvement of the initial house left only defensive operations as an option,” fire officials said in their Facebook post. “Crews quickly knocked down the fire on the exposure and worked to keep it cool while they directed master streams on the blaze.”

Alliance fire officials say the situation is “an active investigation” as the cause remains unknown.
Anybody with information or security camera footage is asked to call inspector Guy Aumend at 330-821-1213.
No additional details were immediately available.
