Massillon police have 'open investigation' after 2-month-old boy dies

The boy was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

MASSILLON, Ohio — The Massillon Police Department "has an open investigation" after a 2-month-old boy died late last week.

Although details about the situation are limited, Massillon police said it was around 7:40 p.m. on Friday, April 28, when they responded to an emergency call involving a non-responsive infant.

The Massillon Fire Department also responded to the scene where police say life-saving measures were given by first responders.

The boy was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

No additional details, including the location of the incident, were released.
