CANTON -- Due to the Nimishillen Creek reaching flood levels in the city of Canton, 10 park locations will be closed until further notice.
They are:
- Arboretum
- Cook
- Martindale
- Monument
- Mother Gooseland
- Reifsnyder
- Schreiber
- Stadium
- Waterworks
- West
In addition to parks where flooding has already been documented, the city asks all park visitors to avoid areas that border the Nimishillen Creek due to the potential hazard of strong currents.
Canton Parks will continue to monitor the situation to be sure other parks and park roadways are not compromised by encroaching flood waters.
Citizens who live or travel near these areas are asked to call 911 to report any emergency situations.
