A Canton physician faces several years for his role in a pill mill operation in Jackson Township.
Frank Lazzerini was found guilty of on 187 counts in Stark County court Tuesday.
According to reports, Frank Lazzerini operated a pill mill, prescribing opioids and other drugs without a legitimate medical purpose.
A jury found Lazzerini guilty on the following charges:
- Involuntary manslaughter
- Engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity
- Aggravated trafficking
- Medicaid fraud and Grand theft
- Tampering with records
- Illegal processing of drug documents
“I commend the hard work done by Board staff in investigating this case with our state, local, and federal partners,” said State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy Executive Director Steve Schierholt. “Through our collaboration, we have put a stop to criminal behavior that significantly impacted the citizens of this state.”
Lazzerini is scheduled to be sentenced July 3.
