STARK COUNTY, Ohio — A 19-year-old man identified as Jed M. Unruh of Minerva has died following a late-night motorcycle crash in Stark County.

It was around 11:36 p.m. Thursday when Unruh “failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the right side of the roadway,” while driving a 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on Route 183.

The Canton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says Unruh then struck a tree.

He was taken to Aultman Hospital where he later died.

Authorities say Unruh was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Neither alcohol nor drugs are considered to be factors, according to the Highway Patrol.

Washington Township Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
