STARK COUNTY, Ohio — Firefighters came to the rescue Thursday, helping a dog that found itself stuck on an icy pond in Jackson Township.
Ellie, a yellow Labrador retriever, was stranded on the ice about 30 yards from shore for approximately one hour, according to the Jackson Township Fire Department.
Captain Dave Seibert and firefighter Adam Hafer sprung into action to bring Ellie to safety.
“Ellie is now back safe and sound with her owner!” the Jackson Township Fire Department wrote on their Facebook page.
