The incident occurred on Sept. 11 when Muiter was driving a 2014 Chevy Silverado westbound on Strausser Street, NW. After going left of the centerline, Muiter's vehicle struck a 2017 Toyota, driven by 53-year-old John Pappas and his passenger, 52-year-old Kristine Pappas, both from Uniontown.
John Pappas was pronounced dead on the scene and Kristene Pappas was transported to the Mercy Medical Center by the Jackson Township Fire Department. Muiter refused medical treatment at the scene, but sought medical treatment at a later time.
