NORTH CANTON, Ohio — It was a slightly different kind of send-off for roughly 100 members of the Ohio National Guard's Company B on Tuesday in North Canton.

The men and women from Company B, 3rd Battallion, 238th Aviation Regiment (General Support Aviation Battalion) sat six feet or so apart for social distancing as they went through the 20 minute Call to Duty ceremony prior to departing for their year-long deployment with U.S. Central Command.

"My charge to you is remember your heritage," Major General John Harris, Adjutant General of the Ohio National Guard, told the company. "Your heritage as the minutemen isn't just a symbol of marketing or recruiting. It represents everything that you are. It represents the willingness to leave the plow, leave the farm, leave the family, to move to the sounds of the danger."

We wish all of the members of Company B well during their deployment.
