STARK COUNTY, Ohio — A 66-year-old woman has died after a motorcycle crash in Stark County.
Authorities with the Canton Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol says it was around 5:48 p.m. Monday when the crash occurred on Route 172 in the area of Robertsville Avenue in Paris Township.
A husband and wife of Carrollton were riding the 2003 Harley Davidson Road King together when authorities say the driver “lost control of the motorcycle on the edge of the pavement.”
Both were taken to the hospital, but authorities say the passenger – identified as Zetta Bennett –later died from her injuries.
The 68-year-old driver was treated and released, according to the Highway Patrol.
“Alcohol and or drug use is not considered to be a factor to the crash,” authorities said in a press release.
The crash remains under investigation.
