CANTON, Ohio — We are following breaking news out of Stark County, where law enforcement is on scene for what the county's EMA director termed as "an active standoff."

As of 2:03 p.m., all lanes of I-77 have re-opened for traffic after being closed due to what the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) termed a "police incident."

According to the Jackson Township Police Department, the U.S. Marshal's Service began a law enforcement operation in the 6800 block of Sunset Strip Northwest at around 11 a.m. on Monday.

In addition to the I-77 closings, Jackson Township police also asked drivers to avoid the area of Sunset Strip Northwest between Eagle Circle Northwest to the North, Strip Avenue Northwest to the West and Portage Street Northwest to the South.

The Stark County Sheriff's Office told 3News they are assisting with traffic.

3News has crews at the scene and is working to learn more details.
