STARK COUNTY, Ohio — A Jackson Township man faces criminal charges after police found nine dead dogs on his property while executing a search warrant.
On April 14, police received a complaint of animal cruelty at a property located in the 6800 block of Lake O' Springs Avenue. Officers from the Jackson Township Police Department then obtained a search warrant for the property, which appeared vacant.
Police, working alongside the Stark County Humane Society, conducted a search of the entire property.
While conducting their search, officers and humane society officials report that they found a total of nine dead dogs scattered throughout the inside and outside of the home.
Police then obtained a warrant for the arrest of the owner of the property, 54-year-old Tome Stambolziovski.
Stambolziovski has been charged with eight felony counts of prohibitions concerning companion animals.
