STARK COUNTY, Ohio — Following the deadly tornadoes that swept across parts of Ohio on Thursday, March 14, the Stark County Sheriff's Office dispatched deputies to help assist with search and rescue operations in Logan County.
The devastating tornadoes left significant damage, which prompted Logan County authorities to contact the Stark County Sheriff’s Office for drone deployment as part of their search and rescue operation. According to the Logan County Sheriff's Office, the EF3 tornado left three dead and 25 injured.
Deputies from the Stark County Sheriff's Office were deployed to Logan County for several days alongside other law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and volunteers who were providing critical support in the search for survivors and to secure the affected areas.
“In times of crisis, it’s imperative that communities come together to support one another. The devastation in Lucas County calls for a united response, and I am proud of our deputies for their readiness to assist those in need,” explained Stark County Sheriff George T. Maier. “Our thoughts are with the victims of these devastating storms.”
Additionally, the Stark County Sheriff's Office says it is committed to providing ongoing assistance as the recovery efforts continue in Logan County.
"The Stark County Sheriff’s Office commends the dedication of all first responders who are working tirelessly in the aftermath of the tornadoes to ensure the safety and well-being of Ohio residents," the office said in a press release.
